"Are You Afraid of the Dark?" - Ghosts and the Gallows (Halloween Version)

This spine-chilling tour takes a completely different route from "The Original Haunted Walk". "Ghosts and the Gallows" recounts the murder of Thomas D'Arcy McGee, with a visit inside the old Carleton County Jail (now the Ottawa Jail Hostel), where Patrick Whelan was hanged for the murder. You will be guided in total darkness by lantern light through the haunted hallways of the old Jail, Death Row and the last working Gallows in Canada.  Are you afraid of the dark?  Come and discover for yourself...

A portion of each ticket sold goes towards the preservation of the Ottawa Jail. Our special Halloween tour will include new stories and details not heard on our regular tour, as well as treats, prizes, and other ghostly surprises!  This tour is not for the faint of heart - it will be an unforgettable evening! "Ghosts and the Gallows" is not recommended for children under the age of 10.

A Haunted Night at the Museum of Nature

Join us at the spookiest time of year at one of Ottawa's most notoriously haunted buildings. This year we have made the tour even more frightening as we will only be offering times when the museum is closed to the public.  Each tour will have a security guard accompanying the group throughout the building, giving us access into the locked galleries. You will hear of the many ghostly encounters that have taken place in the museum, as well it's rich history. Come and join us for this unique opportunity to spend an evening inside one of Ottawa’s most fascinating and haunted buildings!

Tours depart from the main entrance of the Canadian Museum of Nature Tuesday and Friday evenings from October 14th - 28th.  (Please note that Friday, October 28th will be an "Adults Only" evening. Wine and cheese available for purchase.)

"Canada's Scariest Stories" - The Original Haunted Walk (Halloween Version)

This especially spooky version of our "Original Haunted Walk" will include outdoor stops at several haunted buildings. The tour will also feature a 30-minute stop inside the Bytown Museum, one of Ottawa's most haunted buildings, where our guides will tell you some of the scariest ghost stories from across Canada. Restless spirits are reported throughout this vast country, and we have collected the most terrifying and spine tingling tales to share at this most frightening time of year!

A portion of each ticket sold goes towards the preservation of the Bytown Museum. You will get a chance to see the actual places where our staff as well as the staff of the museum have had their own encounters with the ghost (or ghosts) in the building. Prizes will be drawn at the end of each tour. Expect the unexpected!
