Working for the Haunted Walk is one of the most exciting and rewarding opportunities out there.  Our company is made up of the best tour guides in Canada, and we go to great lengths to get and keep the most interesting and competent people around.  It is a work environment where all tour guides play an important role in developing and promoting the tours.  It is this 'entrepreneurial' aspect of the work which keeps our guides coming back for a third or fourth season, long after they cease to be afraid of ghosts!  Our staff come from diverse backgrounds, many with experience in acting, tour guiding, history or tourism, but all have that positive and unique outlook that make our tours so popular.  It is more than just a job to every one of us!

Tour guides are the heart and soul of the Haunted Walk.  They breathe life into the stories and make certain that every one of our customers goes home satisfied (if not a little scared).  They must be willing to learn a provided tour script and a fair amount of local history.  They must also be willing to wear an appropriate tour uniform (ie. cloak and lantern) and work in all kinds of weather.

Here is what some of our guides had to say:

●  Working for Haunted Walk has been a wonderful way for me to discover the city of Ottawa and its history and then share those stories with the people on my tours.  One aspect of working for Haunted Walk that I really like is the wonderful sense of community. Every employee is encouraged to contribute to the running of the company and new ideas are welcomed. - Lindsey

●  As a government employee whose job description involves presenting in front of section heads and committees, working for the Haunted Walk has really helped me with my presentation skills and made me much more comfortable speaking in front of groups. - Kim

●  It is an interesting combination of street theater and story telling mixed in with my love of local history.  It provides me with an opportunity to learn more about local history, ghostly and not so, while working with an amazingly diverse and talented group of people of all ages.  Add to this the chance to meet local customers as well as visitors from all over Canada and the world... this job suits me to a "T". - Mark
